In late April I made a visit to the Carrizo Plain. I’ve been visiting this area since 1987 when The Nature Conservancy hired me to create photos to use for fund raising. I happened to arrive as a spring storm was passing through. I even had snow as I drove over the Temblor range on the east side of the plain. Here’s an image I captured using a technique called High Dynamic Range photograhy (HDR) The Carrizo is located between the Caliente and Temblor ranges in central California. It represents what the Central Valley may have looked like before irrigation. This continues to be one of my favorite places to visit, with the openness and the untamed feeling.
