Bali Revisited

tjp_325_1365In 2004 Treve had the opportunity to visit Bali. The trip involved a quick stop in Tokyo with a visit to the Naritisan Temple and then to Bali where most of the time was spent on the rural country side of the interior around Ubud with a few days on the beach at Amed also. Away from the normal tourist haunts.  It’s only been recently that Treve has taken the opportunity to go back through those photos and to make them presentable for display. One of the highlights of the visit was funeral  procession for princess Tjokorda Istri Niyang Muter, sister of the last king of Ubud.  In addition to the royal funeral and cremation the villagers from Ubud cremated the remains of a number of villagers at the same time. Treve had the rare opportunity to be invited to that event also.
